Xel-Ha

Pronounced “shell-ha,” this amazing water park is located on a picturesque natural inlet near Tulum that has been relevant to local Maya for millennia and today is still home to a wide variety of native plants and animals. The name Xel-Ha actually means “place where the water is born,” and there are a number of natural freshwater underground rivers that flow into the inlet, which once served as a shelter and harbor for commerce, a pilgrimage site and a refuge for sailors. Today, you can explore this historic area that is filled with natural wonders in a sustainable way, thanks to the efforts of Xel-Ha! There are several water slides that stretch more than 30 meters high and end in a clear natural pool. Xplor

Also located close to Playa del Carmen, the Riviera Maya’s Xplor Adventure Theme Park allows guests to choose between a variety of adventures. You can take a breathtaking zipline tour and glide effortlessly through the air high above the treetops, then enter more than 800 yards of beautiful underground pathways full of stalactites and stalagmites, before exploring the Mayan jungle in fun amphibious vehicles. Xoximilco Mexico
